Create a poster concept for the upcoming short film "Infamy" which can also be applied to a website, DVD label, postcard and press pack cover.

The poster must convey the overall tone of the film and the darkness of TV.

— Software —
* Adobe Photoshop CS3.

— Notes —
OK, technical info out of the way first. This was an A3 (29.7cm by 42cm) poser, 4-colour. The end resolution was 600dpi.

Now the less technical bit. I love this poster, it's one of my favourite pieces I've done in a long time. It took loads of experimentation and playing around in Photoshop but I'm immensely happy with the result. Of course, there are pieces I'm not perfectly happy with (I wish I'd left more empty space between the elements for instance) but overall I love it!

Much of it was quite difficult to make. The rings on the TV, for instance, were actually extremely easy to do and could be reproduced in a second, but it took me a few days of playing in Photoshop to get that effect. How did I do it? Used a halftone pattern to create the rings and then I warped them with the lens correction filter. Ideally I would have preferred to make them multi-coloured but I couldn't manage to pull it off without a lot more work than I had time to do.

The title I couldn't tell you exactly how I did. I did that over the space of an afternoon of just playing around and trying different things. I know the idea was to make a snowy TV screen look on the type that appeared to glow, which I believe I pulled off really well. But I'm not sure I could do it again that easily.

The subtitle is very easy, just a slight Gaussian blur with a bit of vertical motion blur.
